Background: The background of this is a photo I took on the Quad in the summertime. I loved the colors of the sunset.
Contrast: I included contrast in the typography I because the black contrasts the light pink.
Alignment: I did a creative alignment by not putting the text in the center of the photograph
Color scheme: I stuck with the light pink with the font because I think it compliments the sunset nicely, and it contrasts well against the dark elements of the image.
Font: I wanted the font to match the statement being made, which is why I went with such a prominent typeface.
Photoshop
For this image, I slightly enhanced the colors of the sunset. To give the letters the jumping out effect, I copied the adjustment layers until I could slightly drag the top one away at an angle.
